With over 70 alumni back at School, this year we hosted a 7-a-side football tournament against three School teams and well as welcoming back an alumni lacrosse team to take on our Senior squad.
Once again former Deputy Head Girl, Amy Bissix, rallied the troops and lead out a strong alumni lacrosse team. In a closely fought out match it was the School 1st XI who were victorious just moments before the final whistle, winning the match 11-10. A real nail-biter!
This year marked the inaugural Claremont 7-a-side Football Tournament, consisting of seven alumni teams and three School teams representing Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 pupils. Mr Rixon and Mr Gladstone refereed the games while Mr Nanson kept track of the score sheets. Players were kept on their toes in fast paced 8-minute matches, but it was the late entrant alumni team ‘(not)Paris McAuliffe’ and the School Year 11 team ‘Ping Utd’ who made it through to the final with ‘(not)Paris McAuliffe’ becoming the first tournament winners with a 1-0 victory. A fantastic display of friendly rivalry!
The wonderful weather bought out over 45 supporters including teachers, parents and alumni who returned to see their old school and catch up with old friends again.
We look forward to welcoming even more alumni teams back next year!
